Manilva is the original village of the municipality, set inland among vineyards a few kilometres from the coast. Its identity is tied to Moscatel grapes and local winemaking, to the church of Santa Ana and to the Fiesta de la Vendimia, the grape-harvest festival held around Calle Mar and Plaza de la Vendimia.

Living there all year
Health care. Consultorio Manilva, at Calle Nueva 3, is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 3pm (SAS (opens in a new tab)); the Sabinillas health centre is on the coast.
Schools and parks. Manilva village has CEIP Pablo Picasso for state infant and primary education; CEIP San Luis de Sabinillas and CEIP Maicandil are in Sabinillas, and IES Las Viñas provides secondary education on Carretera del Peñoncillo (Ayuntamiento de Manilva (opens in a new tab)). The Parque de Las Viñas is in the village, in the La Horca area above the football ground (RTV Manilva (opens in a new tab)).
Buses and airports. Avanza’s L-77 serves Manilva towards Estepona, with selected departures continuing to Marbella and Hospital Costa del Sol; check the destination of your chosen departure (October 2026). From Manilva village, Gibraltar airport is about 33 km and 28 minutes by road, and Málaga airport about 93 km and an hour (Rome2Rio, October 2026).
If you plan to let the property
Since 3 April 2025, a new holiday let covered by Spain’s Horizontal Property Law generally requires prior express approval from the owners’ association. Have your lawyer confirm the current Manilva municipal rules for the specific property, alongside the regional requirements and the community’s rules, before relying on rental income. For a rural property, also confirm which accommodation regime applies.
